UX Researcher @ Stametrix (San Mateo, CA, USA) Jun 2016– Sep 2017
The company needed test three design updates to identify any challenges or design changes before moving forward with the next round of development.
Client: Customer Experience Management Software Company
Team: design researcher (myself), two UX designers, project manager
My Deliverables:
Our goals were to organize one usability test to quickly validate these three concepts: two new interface designs and a new scorecard look and feel. For the two interface designs, we built high-fidelity inVision prototypes and determined several tasks to test the interaction and logic. Because these designs were developed based on previous research and customer feedback, we chose to test these concepts as high-fidelity prototypes to test the finer interactions in order to make final recommendations. While the first prototype was built by one of the UX designers, I built the second prototype built on initial wireframes built by another designer.
For the final third of the test, we used paper prototypes to compare new scorecard concepts. With these new designs, we needed to not only test the look and feel of the concepts but also gather insights to how users read the scorecards and prioritized the information. These insights would help the team determine what designs should be used moving forward.
We recruited participants internally as well as externally with a range of limited to extensive experience in the program
The tasks were easy to complete and users responded well to the new designs.
Users liked and desired the ability to customize the dashboards and left rail organization.
Moving forward, it will be important to address icons, in-line v widget edits, etc consistency to match throughout the program.
